via Saint Leo press release

BOX SCORE

SAINT LEO, Fla. – Lia Lamendola netted four goals Wednesday night in the No. 22 Saint Leo Lions non-conference tilt against No. 23 Assumption. Despite the offensive surge by the junior attacker from North Kingstown, R.I., the visiting Greyhounds edged the Lions 19-10 inside University Turf Stadium.

The Greyhounds ran away from the Lions in the third quarter, shutting down the Lions attack and scoring seven straight. Saint Leo was able to find its way back on the scoreboard in the fourth but it would be too little too late.

Meghan Bomleny and Eliz Fino helped in the efforts with three points apiece, both finding the back of the net once and recording a pair of assists. Kaci Archer pitched in a pair of goals.

Maria Palomba continued to be a presence off the draw with 12 draw controls.

In the net, Liz Clark took the loss after 60 minutes of work. The sophomore from Westfield, Mass. earned 10 saves against the Greyhounds.

No. 22 Saint Leo continues its season against nationally ranked non-conference opponents on Friday, March 4. The Green and Gold will regroup and reset to host No. 19 Mount Olive under the University Turf Stadium lights, starting at 7:00 p.m.
