Saints Head to Montevallo for the PBC Tournament

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Flagler College is the No. 4 seed in this weekend’s Peach Belt Conference Tournament, which will be held at the Track and Field/Lacrosse Stadium at the University of Montevallo in Montevallo, Alabama.
Flagler (6-8 overall, 2-2 in the PBC) will have a re-match of last Saturday’s regular-season finale. The Saints will face the top-seed and host school, Montevallo (9-5, 3-1). The two will play in the first semifinal game on Friday at 4 p.m. (Central). The winner will advance to the championship game on Sunday at 1 p.m. (Central).
Fans are recommended to purchase their tickets on-line before coming to the field. Tickets can be purchased at peachbeltconference.org/sports/2020/10/14/tickets.aspx. Adults (ages 6 and over) are $10. Students with a valid ID from PBC or a PBC lacrosse school and any child under 5 will be admitted free.
The Saints handed the Falcons their only loss of the season in league play last Saturday, 14-13 in overtime. Flagler has won three-of-the-four games played in the series, all at St. Augustine.
Leading the Saints is sophomore attacker Trace McDonald. He has scored 30 goals and tallied 35 assists this season. McDonald ranks second in the PBC in assists per game (2.5), eighth in goals per game (2.14), and leads the league in points per game (4.64). He scored three goals, including the game-winner in overtime, and added three assists in the last meeting with Montevallo. Tyler Douglass has scored 24 goals with eight assists while Luke Burton has added 20 goals and seven assists. Matt Mitrega leads the team with 76 groundballs and 145 faceoff wins. Nate Lehr has recorded 145 assists and had 17 of those last Saturday vs. Montevallo.
Matthew Boas leads the Falcons with 33 goals and nine assists. Zach Laberge has added 27 more goals and eight assists while Jackson Klewchuk has scored 26 goals and 16 assists. Trevayne Hunter leads the team with 37 assists to go along with 23 goals. He leads the league in assists per game (2.64). Gerry York has 69 groundballs and 133 faceoff wins. Alex Egorshin has tallied 190 saves. He is second in the PBC in saves per game (13.57).
