SA’s Liza Diamond Named All-ASun Freshman Team at Stetson!

via press release – photo via Stetson web site   Stetson’s Sam Maguire, Lindsay Summers and Liza Diamond earned all-conference lacrosse honors as the Atlantic Sun Conference handed out their annual post-season awards tonight in Jacksonville at the ASUN Tournament awards banquet. Maguire and Summers were both named 2nd-team all-conference while Diamond was named to the ASUN’s All-Freshman team. Maguire set a school record by scoring 40 goals during the regular season. Stetson’s all-time leader in career goals with 70, Maguire currently ranks among ASUN leaders in goals (12th), shots (14th) and points (24th). The senior has 10 multi-goal games this year, including a career-high six goals in a 20-8 win over Central Michigan. Summers lands a spot on the second team for the second straight year. The senior attack leads the Hatters in points (50) and assists (28) and is fourth on team with 22 goals. She is sixth in the ASUN in assists and 16th in points. Summers is Stetson’s career leader in both points (154) and assists (87). Diamond played every minute in goal for Stetson during her freshman campaign. She leads all conference goalies in minutes played (1027:43) while ranking third in the ASUN in saves (145). She has made 10 or more saves six times. In Stetson’s 24-0 win at Delaware State, Diamond recorded the first shutout in program history. The ASUN Tournament starts Thursday as No. 6 seed Stetson faces No. 3 seed Furman at 4 p.m. on ESPN3.
