TAMPA, Fla. – The No. 9 University of Tampa wins fourth straight Sunshine State Conference Tournament Championship with 12-8 victory over Florida Tech.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
1st Period
- The first goal of the game came from Tampa’s Matt Vetter with an assist from Andrew Kew at 13:28.
- Sean Herdman fired another goal shortly after to give Tampa a two-goal lead.
- The Panthers responded with two goals to tie the game.
- Herdman scored again with an assist from Bryan Wright for Tampa to take the lead.
- Panthers tied the game with 1:25 left in the period.
- With just two seconds left in the period Bryan Wright scored with an assist from Matt Vetter to take a 4-3 lead.
- Florida Tech had back-to-back goals to take the lead 5-4.
- Jake Mosher McGraw with an assist from Chris Vetter tied the game to 5 points each.
- Conor Whipple had an unassisted goal to take a 6-5 lead.
- A man-up goal from the Panthers tied the game to 6 points each.
- Another unassisted goal from Whipple gave Tampa a one-goal lead with 5:19 left in the period.
- Jake Schmidt tacked on another one for Tampa, assisted by Jud Huxtable.
- Tampa led 8-6 going into half-time.
- Tampa opened the half with a goal from M. Vetter, assisted by Whipple at 13:28.
- Andrew Kew opened the final period with a goal at 14:07, leading 10-6.
- Florida Tech responded with two goals to bring their total to 8.
- Schmidt had his second goal of the game with an assist from Huxtable.
- An unassisted goal from M.Vetter gave Tampa a 12-8 lead with 2:56 left in the period.
- Kew has scored a goal in 32 consecutive games, with one goal and one assist today.
- Whipple led Spartans offense in points with four, also tallied two groundballs.
