BOCA RATON, Fla. – Senior Isabella Clark scored twice and handed out four assists to help lead the 16th-ranked Lynn University women’s lacrosse team to an 18-8 victory over Florida Tech on senior day, Saturday. The Fighting Knights improve to 11-5 with the win and are now 2-3 in the SSC.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
– The Fighting Knights outscored the Panthers in each quarter, including a 10-3 advantage over the final two quarters
– Lynn outshot Tech 34-20, held a 20-9 edge in draw controls and finished 17-of-19 on clear attempts
– Sophomore Kristyn Johnson scored twice in the opening few minutes of play and junior Lauren Dickson scored at 8:50 as Lynn jumped out to a 3-0 cushion
– Isabella Clark scored two-straight goals for the Fighting Knights for a 5-4 lead early in the second quarter before junior Sydney Hill, freshman Elizabeth Clagett and Johnson closed the half with one goal each as Lynn lead 8-5 at intermission
– Clagett opened the third quarter with two-straight scores for a 10-5 cushion with 8:10 showing on the clock
– The freshman tandem of Becca Clark and Hannah Exley scored at 5:32 and again at 2:52 as Lynn grabbed a 12-7 edge
– Johnson closed the third with a goal for a 13-8 lead and Lynn closed the game with five goals in the fourth quarter to set the final at 18-8
– Dickson (13:32), Becca Clark (5:59), Hill (4:32), Johnson (3:35) and freshman Lauren O’Brien (00:42) each scored in the final frame for the Fighting Knights
FIGHTING KNIGHT STATS:
– Isabella Clark led all players with six points
– Johnson scored five goals and had five draw controls
– Hill finished with two goals and two assists
– Clagett posted a hat trick and added an assist
– Freshman Isabella Connelly paced Lynn with 10 draw controls
– Graduate goalkeeper Ciara Moorman capped her final home game with nine saves
