BOX SCORE

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (February 18, 2024) – The receiving votes (RV) St. Thomas University (STU) Women’s Lacrosse team (0-2) fell to the sixth ranked Reinhardt Eagles (2-0) at home on Sunday afternoon from AutoNation Field.

Reinhardt took control of the game early taking a 5-0 lead after the first quarter. St. Thomas came back and opened the second quarter with their first goal as Jenna Lytch got her sophomore year started with her first goal of the season.

The second quarter was more evenly matched with Reinhardt having the edge on goals 3-2 taking a 8-2 lead into the half.

Kaitlyn Chmelir got on the board with her second goal of the game, team leading sixth of the season, as STU put up the first goal of the second half. The Bobcats were able to cut the lead back down to five but that would be as low as they’d get it.

The Eagles went off to score eight unanswered goals putting the game away. Lytch scored one last minute goal to have the final score end at 16-4.

St. Thomas led in saves at 13 for Emily Dawson. Both teams were even on ground balls at 14 and draw controls at 12.
