Stetson Lacrosse Falls 18-6 to Davidson

Davidson, NC. – The Hatters fell to Davidson on a chilly Sunday afternoon 18-6.
 
In the first quarter, Stetson found themselves down 2-0 early when Sam King was able to find the back of the net to cut the deficit in half. However, the goal was taken off the board because of illegal equipment. The Wildcats added three more goals before Jordyn Humphrey tallied one making it 5-1. Davidson tallied one more before the end of the quarter.
 
The Wildcats extended their lead in the second quarter making it 8-1 but two goals by Molly Kearney, 15 seconds apart, made it 8-3. Kearney would complete her second quarter hat trick and bring the Hatters within four. Davidson would score one of their own before halftime making it 9-4. 
 
Coming out of halftime the Wildcats scored twice making it 11-4. Humphrey tallied the next two goals completing her hat trick and making it 11-6. Davidson scored twice more making it 13-6 after three quarters. Davidson added five more goals in the fourth quarter and the Hatters fell 18-6.
 
Humphrey tallied her third straight game with three or more goals as she leads the team with 13 on the season. Kearney had her first multigoal match with her hat trick as she now has four goals and an assist this season. Sydney Heimann tallied 9 saves, many of which were timely to stop Davidson from getting momentum in the second and third quarter. 
 
Stetson will now return home for an eight-game stretch. The first game will be on Monday, March 4 at 12pm with Youngstown State coming to DeLand.
