via press release, picture via Stetson web site   Despite their season coming to an end sooner than they hoped, 2017 was a record-setting season for Stetson’s lacrosse program. Under the direction of third-year head coach Christy Leach, the Hatters showed improvements in nearly every area as they reached the Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament for the fourth time in five years. The Hatters set or tied a total of 20 program records during the 2017 campaign, including most wins in a season, longest winning streak and most Atlantic Sun Conference victories. “This was a very successful year for us as a team and as a program,” Leach said. “We grew mentally tough as a team and a program. We showed a lot of growth through the season and were able to achieve many program firsts in the process. “We were more competitive in games, which came from working harder in practices. We were able to focus on details and make changes throughout the course of the year. The obvious highlight was being one of six teams to qualify for the ASUN Tournament, which is quite an accomplishment in an 11-team league, as well as our five-game winning streak and most wins in our conference in program history.” Take a look below at the Hatters’ accomplishments during the recently concluded season: Season Achievements
