Rollins received a first-round bye and will host a quarterfinal game on Sunday, May 14

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (May 7, 2023) – The Rollins men’s lacrosse team, ranked second in the latest USILA / Blatant Lacrosse Coaches’ Poll, recieved the No. 1 seed in the South Region of the NCAA II Men’s Lacrosse Tournament, as announced by the NCAA on Sunday evening. With the top seed, the Tars received a bye through the first round of the tournament and will host a quarterfinal game on Sunday, May 14. Due to the refurbishment of Cahall-Sandspur Field, Rollins will host that contest at nearby Bishop Moore Catholic High School.

The Tars, owners of a 15-1 overall record this season, captured their first-ever SSC Regular Season title after going 7-0 in conference games this year. Rollins also took home its first SSC Men’s Lacrosse Tournament crown with a 13-7 defeat of Florida Southern in the championship game on April 30. The Tars have not lost a game in nearly two months, since a 15-10 loss to Colorado Mesa in a neutral-site game held in Salt Lake City, Utah on March 11. Since then, Rollins has rattled off 10 straight wins with an average margin of victory of 7.4 goals per game in those 10 games.

As the No. 1 seed, Rollins will host the winner of the Tampa vs. Lenoir-Rhyne game, who are seeded fourth and fifth, respectively. That first round game will be played on Wednesday, May 10, at 4 p.m. in Tampa. The Tars will welcome the winner of that game on Sunday, May 14 for a 1 p.m. game at Bishop Moore Catholic High School. Also in the South Region tournament will be Wingate hosting Indianapolis on May 10, with the winner of that contest traveling to second-seeded Limestone for a quarterfinal matchup on Sunday, May 14 at 1 p.m.
