  • After the Pavinelli goal, Maryland went on a 6-0 run to close the first quarter with a 7-1 lead.
  • Florida got on the board first in the second quarter after both teams went scoreless for the first five minutes of the frame. Ashley Gonzalez found the back of the net on a pass from Maggi Hall to cut the Terps’ lead to five.
  • Following Gonzalez’s goal, Pavinelli netted her second of the day with just over seven minutes left in the half to bring it to 7-3.
  • The Terps got one back with 4:27 left in the frame, but Emily Heller found the back of the cage on a woman-up scenario to pull back within four at 8-4. Hall once again found Heller just 57 seconds later to cut the lead to three with 1:51 left in the half.
  • Pavinelli’s third hat trick in as many games brought the Gators to within two at 8-6 with just 25 seconds remaining in the half, but Maryland scored one final time to take the 9-6 lead into the locker room.
  • Out of the break, the Terps pieced together a 4-0 run over the course of the 15-minute third period to take the 13-6 lead into the final frame.
  • The Terps continued to hold all the momentum to start the fourth, taking the 17-6 lead before Heller and Pavinelli went back-to-back to pull to within nine with 5:32 left in the game. Maryland netted the final goal from either team with 4:30 left to take the game 18-8.
