UF: LoPinto, Reznick Tabbed as Tewaaraton Top-25 Nominees

Florida’s total moves to 20 Top-25 nominations in the 14-year history of the program.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Gators had two athletes tabbed as 2023 Tewaaraton Top-25 Nominees, as announced by the Tewaaraton Foundation on Thursday.

Sophomore attacker Emma LoPinto and redshirt junior Sarah Reznick each earned the first Top-25 nomination of their careers.

Overall, the Gators have had 20 Top-25 nominations stemming from 15 Gators in the 14-year history of Florida lacrosse and the 2023 campaign marks the 22nd anniversary of the Tewaaraton award.

LoPinto earned the distinction after scoring 61 points on 43 goals and 18 assists through 14 games this season. She is currently shooting .566 and has also tallied 10 groundballs and eight caused turnovers.

The Manhasset, N.Y. native ranks in the Top-35 nationally in five categories: points (23rd | 61), shot percentage (25th | .566), goals (28th | 43), points per game (29th | 4.36) and goals per game (32nd | 3.07).

For her efforts this season, she has earned eight weekly honors – Attacker of the Week (3), Honor Roll (5).

Reznick garnered the Top-25 nod after recording a .532 save percentage through the first 14 games this season. She has earned all 11 victories, while averaging 9.88 saves per game. The redshirt junior keeper has tallied at least 10 saves in eight games this year.

The Long Beach, N.Y. native sits in the Top-20 nationally in four categories: save percentage (3rd | .532), saves (16th | 134), saves per game (19th | 9.57) and goals against average (20th | 9.89).

She has earned two AAC Goalkeeper of the Week awards this season, while earning a spot on the Honor Roll three times.

Five finalists will be announced in early May. The Tewaaraton Award recipients will be chosen after the conclusion of the collegiate lacrosse season.
