Usher’s five goals and an assist helps No. 9 Saints triumph over No. 22 Griffins

ST AUGUSTINE. – Tristan Usher scored all five of her goals in the first half as No. 9 (IWLCA Division II Top 25) Flagler College rolled to a 16-4 victory over No. 22 Seton Hill University in a non-conference women’s lacrosse game Friday night at the Flagler Lacrosse Field.

Flagler won its fifth game in a row and improved to 7-1 on the season. Seton Hill dropped to 0-3. Up next for the Saints is Westminster University of Salt Lake City, Utah on Sunday at 1 p.m.

The Saints held an 5-2 lead at the end of the first quarter. Flagler scored six of the seven goals in the second quarter to take an 11-3 lead at the break. Usher scored the first three goals in the second quarter and added another before halftime.

Carley Tepel added four goals while Lexie Morton finished with two goals and an assist and Sydney Onega tallied two goals. Tepel scooped up six ground balls and Lauren Ribadeneira made seven saves.

Mila Udovicic scored a pair of goals for the Griffins. Allison Hathaway made six saves while Gia Castellano added five more.
