Warner Women’s Lacrosse Beats St. Andrews And Improves To 4-0

LAURINBURG, NC- The Royals traveled to North Carolina and faced off against the St. Andrews Knights as they looked for their fourth consecutive win.

The Royals started off quickly in this one as they scored four goals in the beginning of the quarter. Abby Petrillo would score unassisted for the first point of the game followed by an unassisted goal by Bailey Dykes. Two assists by Monserrat Anaya-Lopez and Elizabeth Hayn allowed Bailey Lightsey to score for an early four-nothing lead. In the 2nd quarter, the Royals keep applying pressure against the Knights as Dykes would score starting off the 2nd inning, followed by LIghtsey scoring her third goal of the game off an assist by Vanessa Lynch. Dykes would find an open Petrillo giving her a chance for her 2nd goal of the night. Lightsey would showcase her ability to find open teammates as Dykes would score her third goal of the game and shortly after Dykes would score unassisted. Ending a dominant 1st half, the Royals led by a score of 10 to 0. With good defenses by both sides in the third quarter, Lightsey would find an open chance and score her third goal of the game. Looking for more points the Royals would score five more runs in the fourth quarter courtesy of Hayn scoring her first goal of the game from an assist from Lightsey, Lopez scoring from an assist from Lynch, and Dykes, Hayn, and Petrillo scoring bringing up the Royals lead to 16 to 1 and securing their fourth win of the season. The Royals look to keep the winning streak alive as they face off against Grove City College on February 26 at 5:00 PM

MATCH HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Bailey Dykes would score five of the Goals and recorded two assists in the win for the Royals.
  • Bailey Lightsey  also had a great game and would finish with three assists while scoring four goals of her own.
  • The Royals had a total of nine assists to remain undefeated on the year.
