Webber Women Warriors Fall 12-4 to Missouri Baptist Trojans

St. Louis, MO – The Webber International Women’s Lacrosse team finished its road trip in St. Louis to take on the Missouri Baptist Trojans Saturday afternoon. The Warriors battled tough but ultimately fell 12-4.
The first quarter started strong for Webber, as Bryce Gerber took the first shot of the game after a Warrior Draw Control win. Jun Saito and Makayla Senter also took shots for the Warriors, but the Trojans were able to strike first, scoring twice within two minutes. The Warrior defense held strong throughout the rest of the quarter, causing multiple turnovers, as Webber headed to the second quarter down 2-0.
The Warriors were able to cut the deficit to one on a Reliza Ann Fitzpatrick goal, making it 2-1. Missouri Baptist was able to score again, extending the lead back to two. Gerber was able to erase the Trojans goal soon after as she got on the board herself. Missouri Baptist was able to score four more times in the second quarter, as the score heading into half time was 7-2 in favor of MBU.
The Warriors continued to take shots on the Trojans, as attempts from Ayame Macedo, Kaitlyn Patterson, and Gerber were all saved. Jordyn Davidson picked up a save before two more shots from the Trojans went wide. Missouri Baptist was able to get two more goals in the third quarter, making it 9-2 headed into the fourth.
Senter scored for the Warriors at the start of the fourth, making it 9-3 Trojans. Missouri Baptist was able to get on the board two more times before Gerber scored again off an assist from Alia Loydd. MBU scored once more in the fourth to make the final score 12-4.
The Warriors will be back in action on Thursday, February 29th when they host the Tennessee Wesleyan Bulldogs on the Warrior Turf Field.
