The timing is hard to ignore.
Two seasons ago, the Ponte Vedra boys lacrosse team erased a disappointing season with its first trip to the final four. The Sharks followed that up with another appearance in the state semifinals and this time came up one quarter short of playing in the title game. The beginning of this golden run was also the start of something else. That was the day Brendan Francis came home.
