2012 FHSAA Boys and Girl’s Lacrosse Championships to be held in Port St. Lucie

PORT ST. LUCIE — The Vero Beach High School girls lacrosse team may not have far to travel to protect its six-year streak of state final victories.
Now all the Fighting Indians have to do is make it back to the finals.
The Florida High School Athletic Association state lacrosse tournament appears headed to South County Stadium in Port St. Lucie this spring with John Carroll Catholic High School serving as the host school.
A two-year contract, with an option for two more years, is expected to be finalized by the end of the week, according to Treasure Coast Sports Commission executive director Tom Colucci.
FHSAA spokeperson Corey Sobers confirmed the plans to move the boys and girls lacrosse Final Fours to Port St. Lucie from their previous site at West Orange High School in Winter Garden.
