Revin Koss returns to action for STA this season
District 29 includes a legitimate final four hopeful in St. Thomas Aquinas.  The return of Revin Koss to the field this season is a big story for the Raiders.  The Johns Hopkins commit missed the entire 2013 season with a torn ACL and we are certain he is happy to be back for his senior season.  He will team up with a stocked roster of players including high scoring senior RJ Curtin (Delaware) and JP Crowley (Junior – Towson.)  A pair of junior middies Alec Cumella and Alex Tumminello will add plenty of offense. Patrick Monaghan (Ohio Wesleyan) is back for his senior season and will be solid in front of returning goalie Ben Tobin. The Raiders have a tough schedule ahead which features the MIAA’s McDonogh, Lake Highland, Milton (GA), Columbus, Jupiter, Boca, Vero, and Pine Crest. The University School is certainly a program that is starting to put it all together. They finished second in this district last year and head coach, Jan Northrop, is returning for this third season.   Their top player is highly recruited junior defenseman Raul Mendy.  Together he and fellow junior defender Cole Bianco will work in front of returning senior goalie Daniel Harris.
Mikey Mendella (Roanoke) is a standout defenseman for Cypress Bay

Senior Brice Arvon is the man to watch on the midfield and a pair of junior attackmen, Blaine Preston and Daniel Eisdorfer will be working the offense. When asked about the upcoming season Coach Northrop said, ” the team is in its third year as a varsity sport and we look to have our first winning season.” (10-10 in 2013) Emilio Loeza is back for his second year as head coach at Western Davie.  He led the Wildcats to an impressive 9-7 season but lost to the University School twice.  They could be a team that surprises some people this year.  Many of their players worked hard in the off season playing for the Praetorian Lacrosse Club and they have some strong offensive weapons in Josh Cimerberg, Robert Rodriguez and Max Brecher.  They will certainly be a team folks don’t want to fall asleep on. American Heritage Plantation, South Plantation, and Plantation High School will round out this district. District 30
Cam Delisle (Florida Southern) returns for this senior season at Archbishop McCarthy
Cam Delisle (Florida Southern) returns for this senior season at Archbishop McCarthy
Cypress Bay absolutely rolled over everyone on their schedule last year for the first thirteen games.  They were first tested by Gulliver Prep when the squeaked out a 13-12 OT win in a very physical contest.  They the won the district Semi-Final 19-1 and lost the Championship game in OT to Archbishop McCarthy. Since then they graduated 13 Seniors and lost two to transfers in the off season. Three of their top five returning seniors are out for the season with injuries.  They should still be a tough team defensively with Mike Mendella (Roanoke) and Dylan Garber  in front of two excellent Senior goalies Evan Trabosh (Asbury) and Tyler Loporto, who won 1st Team All County honors in 2013.  Offensively Tyler Mutschler at attack and Kris Sanchez at Midfield should be the lead offense.. Two players to watch will be Sophomore LSM Anthony Courcelle  and midfielder Ryan Dugan. Archbishop McCarthy also graduated a large senior class including standout Kori Beck (Tampa) and Nicholas Elias (Wingate.)  They rely heavily on returner Cam Delisle (Florida Southern) but they will be missing some depth from last year. Cooper City, Pembroke Pines Charter, West Broward and new comer Flanagan round out this district.
