MELBOURNE, Fla. – Twenty-six women’s lacrosse student-athletes were recognized in the second year of Sunshine State Conference women’s lacrosse. Florida Southern College, SSC Regular Season Champion, boasts seven All-SSC awards.
Voting for the All-SSC Women’s Lacrosse Team was conducted among the league’s head coaches.
Allie Modica of Florida Tech was selected Player of the Year. Kallie German of Rollins earns Freshman of the Year accolades. Corinne Desrosiers of Florida Tech was named Coach of the Year.

Modica started all 16 games for the Florida Tech Panthers in 2016. The midfielder tallied 39 points (34 goals / 5 assists) with a .372 shooting percentage. The Vero Beach, Florida native was second in SSC Ground Balls per Game (2.94), Draw Controls per Game (3.13), and Caused Turnovers per Game (1.81).
German scored 37 goals for the Rollins Tars in 14 games during her 2016 campaign. The Centreville, Maryland native is second in SSC Goals per Game (2.64) and third in Points per Game (3.36).
SSC coaches voted Desrosiers Coach of the Year in her second season. In 2016, Florida Tech improved its overall record (10-6), SSC record (2-2), and conference tournament (No. 3 seed) from their inaugural season.
Modica, Tyler Thomas (Rollins), Kristina Coppolino (Rollins), Sara Grenier (Florida Tech), and Gabby Barowski (Florida Southern) repeat as first team members. Ashley Robertson (Florida Southern) and Malorie Olin (Rollins) move up from the second team to first in 2016.
