Box Score TOWSON, Md. – The University of Florida women’s lacrosse team (3-1) triumphed over No. 16 Towson (3-3), 13-6, on the road Sunday afternoon.
In a game that was 32 degrees at the opening draw, the No. 3 Gators controlled the game from start to finish, using a 13-8 advantage on the draw to shoot a program-record 47 shots.
Senior attacker Sammi Burgess set a career-high with seven points (three goals, four assists) to go along with three ground balls. Also playing well for the Gators was senior attacker Mollie Stevens (3 goals, 1 assist, six draw controls), and freshman midfielder Brianna Harris (two goals, two assists).
Playing 57:44 minutes in the cage, sophomore goalkeeper Haley Hicklen earned the victory by turning in seven saves and a .636 save percentage.
Florida now leads the all-time series with Towson, 2-0, after beating the Tigers 15-7 last season in Gainesville.
