Kyle Hunziker Scores with :09 on the Clock to Get Buchholz Past Jesuit

Tampa Jesuit (7-1) traveled to Gainesville Friday night March 6th to face the talented Buchholtz Bobcats (9-1). It was a wet and cold night with the temperature in the mid 40’s with a light rain.  Despite the rain and cold there was a great crowd on hand for a game that was not going to disappoint.  Buchholtz’s  Kyle Hutiziker (3g, 2a) opened scoring in the first quarter.  The game was roller coaster with both teams taking numerous goal leads thru out just to have the other fight back to tie.  Buchholtz midfielder Finn Swanson (4g, 2a) and Tampa Jesuit’s Hunter Revord (2g,1a) battled it out all night to win the groundball advantage for their teams. Tampa Jesuit Freshmen Jake Lemon (6g) and Senior Stephano Mastro (Mount St Mary) (3g 5a) combined to score the majority of the goals for the Tigers. With 0:49 seconds left in the game Tampa Jesuit Senior Stephano Mastro tied the game at 14 apiece with a nice one on one dodge and finish.  The following face off was won by Buchholtz and they held the ball for the final shot. With :09 seconds left in the 4th quarter Buchholtz’s Kyle Hutiziker inbounded the ball from the alley on an isolation play and scored the game winner with 6 tenths of a second remaining, ending a very exciting evening of lacrosse.  Tampa Jesuit (7-2) traveled to  Oak Hall the next day and won 11-6.  While Buchholtz (10-1) will travel to East Ridge (3-4) on Thursday March 12th.
