#4 Gators, #3 Trojans Meet For First Time on Friday Night

via press release – photo via UF web site   GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Almost two weeks after opening the 2017 season, the No. 4 University of Florida women’s lacrosse team (0-1) is back in action Friday night, as it welcomes No. 3 Southern California (2-0) to Gainesville. The opening draw is set for 6:30 P.M. from Donald R. Dizney Stadium, in the only home night contest of the season. A live stream of the game will be available via YouTube, with Ryan Urquhart on the call. No. 4 Florida vs. No. 3 USC Live Stream In addition, Friday’s showdown will feature the first-ever meeting between the Gators and Trojans. Friday’s game against Southern California marks the second of seven games the Gators will play against teams currently ranked in the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association top-20. After facing No. 1 North Carolina to open the season, Florida is also set to play No. 2 Maryland, No. 5 Syracuse, No. 7 Stony Brook, No. 15 Denver and No. 17 Towson all by the end of March. They have a ton of firepower offensively and are very solid in goal. Against No. 1 North Carolina on Feb. 11, both Shayna and Sydney recorded a hat trick to account for six out of UF’s 10 goals. If you include both of Florida’s exhibition games (U.S. National Team, Scotland National Team), the Pirreca sisters have scored 34% (19-56) of all goals this season.
