West Boca Nips Cypress Bay 10-9

  The Bulls dominated time of possession in this one and were near perfect on the clear. The Bulls were able to maintain possession early and often, out shooting the Lightning offense in every quarter. Despite controlling the ball, the Bulls only lead 3-2 at the end of the 1st. The Lightning offense came alive in the 2nd quarter to tie up the game 4-4 at the half. Cypress came out of the half and got two quick ones on the board to lead 6-4. Senior Aaron Deen got the hot hand and put two on the board to even it up at 6-6. After trading goals for the rest of the 3rd quarter the Bulls went into the 4th leading 10-8. Cypress Bay scored mid way through the final quarter to get within one but the Bulls buckled down and ran the clock out to improve to 2-1 on the season. Kyle Cox (2, 2) and Aaron Deen (4, 0) led the team with 4 points each. Griffin Berke (1, 1) and Anthony Urbano (1, 1) each chipped in a goal and an assist in the win. Ryan Glasser and Kris San Lucas each scored 1. Sophomores LSM Reed Cook and Midfielder Troy Weiss led the team in Ground Balls with 6 each. Troy Weiss went 9-14 at the Faceoff X. Up next for the Bulls (2-1) is a pivotal district match up at American Heritage (0-5) on Wednesday at 5:00pm.
