All Saints Academy Prevails Over Bloomingdale 12-7

  All Saints Academy traveled to Bloomingdale to take on the Bulls for a district game under the lights on Tuesday, February 23, 2016. The Saints prevailed with a 12-7 comeback win. The Saints took an early 3-1 lead in the first quarter with goals from Nick Wegman and Hunter Bennett. The Bulls scored a flurry of goals in the second quarter led by Evan Knapp and Paul Dobler to take a 6-4 lead at the half.  The Saints mounted a rally in the third quarter powered by their defensive unit led by Chase Leland, Holden Shirey, Jack Garcia, Chase Trinklein and Tanner Scarborough as the held the Falcons to one goal in the second half. The Saints offense got into gear with Hunter Bennett, Zach Wilson, and Fisher Williams in the third quarter as Hunter Bennett fed Zach Wilson and Fisher Williams for back to back goals to tie the game. Zach Wilson scored again as the Saints forged ahead for a 7-6 lead. The Bulls tied the game with a goal from Joel Papineau to the end the 3rd quarter at 7-7. Saints scored five goals in the fourth from Stuart Skipper, and back to back goals each from Fisher Williams and Tyson “Moose Gurnsey to close out the game with 12-7 win. The Saints’ Fisher Williams and Zach Wilson led all scorers with 3 goals each, Zach Wilson led all in assists with four. The Bulls leading scorer was Paul Dobler with two goals and Evan Knapp led the Bulls in assist with two, and goalie Curran Porto had 25 saves. The Falcons of next game is a home contest against Jefferson on Friday, February 26, 2016. The Saints next game is Freedom at home on Friday, February 26, 2016.
