The Matanzas Pirates sail away with another district win at Pedro Menendez 18 to 4 The Matanzas offense started fast and never looked back. Storm Schalit started off the scoring at 10:59. Andrew McIntyre #17 and James Mayer #77 each tallied 4 goals with Gunner Parson adding 3 strikes to his season total. The Pirates saw 9 different goal scorers in Wednesday night’s game. The defense stood out for the Pirates, led by Michael Forte and Maximus Schalit as they gobbled up the ground balls and put heavy pressure on the Pedro attackman. Both Alex Muniez #12 and Logan Miller #3 scored 2 goals each but just could not get any consistent offense on track. The Pirates have made some changes on the field, calling up Johny Sitarik from the JV squad and putting him in goal. Matt Gutierrez # 25 will shift to play midfield. Matt proved to be strong on defense causing 2 big turn overs and scoring a goal. After a rough start the Pirates are back on track. Matanzas will have a tough road this weekend heading to play 5 and 1 Creeks on Friday the 26th at 8pm and then on the 27th will face Gulliver Prep at Matanzas at 3pm.
