
All Saints Over St. Stephens 16-9

The St. Stephens Episcopal Falcons traveled to Winter Haven, Florida to take on All Saints Academy Monday night, February 23, 2015. The Saints jumped on the Falcons early and did not relinquish lead winning the game 16-9.
The Saints scored first, as Fisher Williams buried the ball in the back of the net from a pin point pass from Hunter Bennett. The Saints scored back to back goals from Hunter Bennett and Zach Wilson to take a 3-0 lead. The Falcons scored their first goal off a fast break that was promptly answered again with back to back goals from Hunter Bennett and Zach Wilson to close out the quarter with a 5-1.
The Falcons scored two straight goals at the beginning of the second quarter to close the gap to 5-3. The Saints answered with 2 goals each from Zach Wilson and Fisher Williams to end the half at 9-3.
The Saints opened the third quarter with a fast break goal by Nick Wegman. The Falcons responded with their fourth goal of the game. The Saints came back with a crafty goal around the crease by Hunter Bennett. The Falcons maintained their fighting spirit, scoring two straight goals to make the score 11-6. The Saints’ Zach Wilson scored on two back to back heaters to close out the third quarter with a 13-6 lead.
In the fourth quarter, Saints’ Head Coach Ray Ryan pulled starting goalie William Skipper along with the remaining starters. St. Stephens scored three goals in the fourth while the Saints scored two goals to end the game with a 16-9 victory.
Zach Wilson led the Saints in scoring with seven goals and two assists, Hunter Bennett led the Saints in assists with 5 and three goals. Dylan Methot led the Saints in groundballs with 6.
The St. Stephen’s Episcopal Falcons next game is February 24 at Immokalee. The Saints next game is a road game against Tampa Tech on February 25, 2014.
