All Saints Shows Stout Defense in 11-1 Win Over Visiting Alonso

  Alonso High School Ravens traveled to Winter Haven, Florida to take on All Saints Academy, Tuesday night, February 16, 2015. The Saints prevailed with an 11-1 victory, led by a stout defensive effort. The Saints started fast jumping out to a 4-0 lead in the first quarter, Zach Wilson scored first off an assist from Fisher Williams. Fisher Williams scored next from an assist from Hunter Bennett, followed by an unassisted goal by Hunter Bennett. The Saints closed out the quarter with goal from Fisher Williams on assist from Zach Wilson. Fisher Williams of the Saints closed out the half with the only goal in the second quarter. The Ravens open the third quarter with their only goal of the game, an unassisted goal by Gyselink. The Saints answered with five goals, two from Fisher Williams, one from Tyson “Moose” Gurnsey, and two from Hunter Bennett. The Saints scored a fourth quarter goal from Zach Wilson from an assist from Fisher Williams. The Saints defensive unit led by Chase Leland, Holden Shirey, Jack Garcia, and Tanner Scarborough held the Ravens to one goal. Saints goalie William Skipper had 10 saves. Fisher Williams led all scorers with five goals, Zach Wilson and Hunter Bennett led the Saints in assists with 2 each. Zach Wilson led the Saints in groundballs with five, followed by Tanner Scarborough, Shawn Slachta, and Chase Leland with four groundballs each. The Ravens next game is a district game against Steinbrenner on the road on Wednesday, February 17, 2016. The Saints next game is a district contest against Tampa Bay Tech at home on Thursday, February 18, 2016.
