  Note:  While watching the STA-Stoneman game I was getting updates for Boca and Wells called me to chuckle about how the Sun-Sentinel was covering TWO games in one day and he wasn’t at EITHER of them!  But rest assured, he will be back in action shortly . . .   Oxbridge Eliminates St. Andrew’s in Regional Opener   Excerpt: For the second consecutive season, Oxbridge felled St. Andrew’s. This time, the ThunderWolves earned their first victory on the Boca Raton lacrosse power’s home turf. Anchored by its lockdown defense and 15 saves by goalkeeper Christian Tomei, Oxbridge claimed an 8-3 victory in Thursday’s regionals opener at St. Andrew’s. Oxbridge (16-4) advances to host defending state champion St. Thomas Aquinas in the semifinal of a stacked Region 4. The Raiders eliminated the ThunderWolves last season en route to their first championship in the sport, but Oxbridge coach Stan Ross believes his team is better this year. “The mentality – we’re a little bit stronger defensively than we were last year – the way we prepare,” Ross said. “We’re just trying to build off of some of the things that we did well last year.” Ross said pregame he’d need 20 saves from Tomei to win. His defense kept the Scots from getting enough shots to warrant that, but when called upon, the sophomore made numerous highlight saves. “Once I make that first save, I feel like it’s my game,” said Tomei, an Ohio State commit. “I try to do it every night, do it for the team.”   Read the rest HERE
