The Barron Collier boys lacrosse team left no doubt as to who is the top team in Collier County. The Cougars (14-3) manhandled Gulf Coast, 15-3, in the first round play-in game on Tuesday night. Barron Collier’s stifling defense was again in command from the outset. BC has scored 48 and given up 3 in three post season games. The Cougars, ranked No. 8 in the South by LaxPower, scored the first goal of the game with 5:50 remaining in the first quarter. Junior attacker Michael O’Dea scorched the ball past the Gulf Coast defenders. O’Dea led the Cougars in points with eight, scoring four goals and four assists. Barron Collier led 6-0 at halftime and continued its scoring success in the second half. Sophomore attacker Austin Miller continued his hot hand and was the game’s leader in goals with five. Senior attacker Matt Ihm, the Cougars’ leading scoring this season with over 100 pts, assisted on a game-high six goals, and he scored one for himself. Three Sharks (14-6) found the back of the net. Sterling Desorcy, Daniel London and Jake Owens all scored once for the Sharks. Barron Collier will play at home against Bishop Verot in a second-round play-in game on Friday at 8 p.m
