Bishop Moore Now 9-3 – Tops Tampa Jesuit 11-9

Above – Bishop Moore’s Charlie Moran and Matt Mottern celebrate Bishop Moore is beginning to make some noise as they move to 9-3 with wins over Oviedo and Tampa Jesuit this week. Jesuit is now 9-5. The score was tied 2-2 after 1st qtr and 4-4 at half. Bishop Moore took the 2nd half lead going into the fourth 8-5, and lead 11-7 with a 1 minute left in regulation before Noah Menedez face-offs fueled last minute goals for Jesuit to bring the final to 11-9. Matt Mottern led the Hornets in scoring 3 goals and an assist.  Charlie Moran also had 2 goals, 1 assist; and for Jesuit, Noah Menedez had a strong night on face-offs and added 2 goals while Daniel Scarpinato scored a hat trick. Bishop Moore is quietly putting together a solid season with wins over Winter Park and Seminole High School.  They also scored nine goals on Lake Brantley in a loss.  The Hornets will take on Ponte Vedra next Friday.  Jesuit has suffered all five of their losses in the last six games.  They will look to get things back on track as they face Grayslake Central of Illinois next.
