Zachary Fleis Scores 8 as Melbourne Central Catholic Upsets Winter Park 11-8

A four goal run in the second period had the Wildcats up by 2 at halftime.  But MCC came out strong in the second half outscoring Winter Park 6 to 1.  Zachary Fleis was on fire as he netted 8 goals, five of which were assisted by fellow attackman Garrett Arnold. Dylan Lowdermilk added 2 goals from midfield to go along with 15 out of 20 face-off wins and 14 ground balls. Chris Cacciatore came up big with 9 saves in goal. Nick Beattie 24 saves for Winter Park and Thatcher Clark had a great game of his own scoring five for true Wildcats. MCC has won 9 straight games with their only loss coming in a season opening game at Vero Beach when they lost 13-8.  They are in a weak district winning all district games by more than 20 goals but they do have wins over Martin County (5-4), Bartram Trail (7-5), and Wellington (6-6).  They enter a solid stretch of schedule with games against Oviedo, Ponte Vedra, and Seminole coming up so they will have an opportunity to show they are true contenders.   Once they advance out of the districts they will play the winner of district 17.  They should advance from there and be ready to face  the team that survives the District 19  and 20 showdown.  That will included teams like Vero Beach, Jupiter, and Benjamin.
