In a key District 23 match up Pope leaned heavily on some great defense by Tommy Dunne (6 forced turnovers & 5 groundballs), Joey Giuffrida (5 forced turnovers & 8 groundballs), Chase Caldararo (2 forced turnovers & 2 groundballs) and Alex Reyes (2 forced turnovers & 3 ground balls).  They held Spanish River to five goals as Mikey Urso scored a hat trick plus an assist for the Eagles.  Chris Castellon and Patrick Brower had 2 goals and 1 assist each.  Graham Kramer and Drew Minchew each scored twice. Davis Diamond had a great day for Spanish River netting three goals and one assist. St. Andrews, Boca, and Pope John Paul II are all 3-1 in district play and the seeds will go to the tie breaking as outlined here.
