The Cardinal Mooney Cougars lost to a strong Bishop Verot Vikings team last night. After easily handling first year team Out of Door Academy in their season opener, Cardinal Mooney was on their heels from the opening whistle against Verot. The Vikings dominated on faceoffs and ground balls. Cardinal Mooney managed a small second half rally but it was not enough. Cougars Coach Wight said “Verot was very fast and talented. Add to that we didn’t play to our ability and it’s a recipe for a pretty ugly game.” Coach Wight also said he was very proud of the play of his second stringers who mounted the late game push. Mooney plays All Saints Academy at home in their first District match up on Thursday night.
