Breaking! – MLL’s Florida Launch to Host the First Annual FLN All-State Senior All-Star Game

Written by Lee Roggenburg on . Posted in .
FloridaLacrosseNews.com has hosted two Central Florida Senior All-Star games and last year did the first South Florida Senior All Star games.  All three games have been tremendously successful and offered a great time for deserving players as well as one last great “hurrah” for the High School careers.  However, players from Jacksonville, Tallahassee, and the Gulf Coast have not been able to participate in the games yet.

“We wanted to roll out a North Florida game this year but with Tampa coming on-line with the FHSAA we didn’t want to miss those kids,” said FLN founder Brian Davis.  “The logistics behind trying to pull off four different games was just too much, but when the folks at the Florida Launch came along and wanted to get involved the idea of an All-State game seemed to make perfect sense.” The first FLN All Star game was held at Lake Highland Prep in 2012.  Many of the players from that game are active on NCAA rosters this season – “Rosters are set for the Central Florida Senior All Star Game.” In 2013 games were held at Timber Creek High School and St. Andrews.  Both of those games had rosters that read like a “who’s who” list of top Florida Talent.  “FloridaLacrosseNews.com presents Central Florida Senior All Star Game” and “Florida Lacrosse News Announces First Annual Southern Region High School Lacrosse All-Star Game for Graduating Seniors” Video of the Central Florida 2013 game can be seen here and the South Florida game can be seen here.

The top 70 graduating seniors in the state will receive invitations to participate in the game scheduled for Saturday, May 10 before the Ohio Machine vs. Florida Launch game at FAU Stadium in Boca Raton.  All players selected will receive tickets to the MLL game and event uniforms they can keep. The FHSAA coaches will nominate players to the selection committee.  All seniors receiving US Lacrosse All-American honors and Academic All-American honors will automaticly receive spots in the All-Star game. “We really want to thank Jeanie Waina of the Florida Launch for helping to make this happen,” commented Davis.  For anyone wanting to purchase tickets to this or any Florida Launch game this season please contact Jeanie at jeanie.waina@floridalaunchlacrosse.com.
