The Top Ten Coaches Poll is brought to you by Team Florida this season.  Entering its 9th year, the Florida Elite Showcase has placed more players in top level college lacrosse programs than any other club travel team.  The Team Florida Summer Showcase will take place May 10-11 at it’s new home in Palm Coast this year. Registration is now open. Here are the results of our sixth weekly Coaches Poll.  Fourteen teams received at least one Top 10 vote!  Good luck to the teams as the season enters the final stages and thanks to the coaches who took the time to participate! LHP takes over the top spot in the poll due to their win over Lake Brantley combined with Jupiter’s 1-2 record during the week.  Jupiter lost to Vero by one, the Benjamin game by 4 and then came back to beat Ponte Vedra by one in OT.  The voters did not punish Jupiter too much for that week after considering what they have done over the entire season. Ponte Vedra and Barron Collier swapped spots and the coaches gave mroe weight to PV’s close road loss to Jupiter. Boca Raton moved back up the polls to #5, as they have rebounded with 3 wins since their 2 one-goal road losses to Top 10 teams.  Saint Andrew’s slipped a notch after a week off. Benjamin moves up one spot after their win over Jupiter. Vero’s win over Jupiter was given more weight than their loss at home to Pine Crest.  PJP returns to the Top 10 and Jensen Beach makes their first appearance to round out the Top 10.  Lake Brantley and Columbus Catholic fall out of the Top 10 after their losses Friday night.   So hear are the results of the March 31st Poll:

  Also receiving votes:  Lake Mary, Bishop Moore, St. Thomas Aquinas, Maclay   One big difference between the Coaches and Media polls is how the coaches view Melbourne Central Catholic and Gulf Coast, as neither received a vote.  Looks like the Coaches are taking a wait and see attitude to those teams as they are currently in the tough parts of their schedules this week and next. This week there will again be interesting match-ups that will affect these rankings. MCC vs. PV, Lake Brantley vs. Lake Mary, Boca Raton vs Columbus Catholic, LHP vs SA and Lake Mary vs SA, etc.!
