Conor Whipple named “player of the week”

Written by Lee Roggenburg on . Posted in . "Player of the Week"
Conor was the star of one of the most anticipated games of the season, the match-up between the top team in the FHSAA for the past decade and the defending state champion of the SFIA.  Although everyone had an opinion on how this game would turn out, nobody knew until they finally faced off at the Orange Bowl Classic. He responded with 9 goals and an assist in that game to go along with 3 goals and 6assists in one half of play against Spanish River earlier in the week.  His performance in the Orange Bowl Classic cemented the reputation of the top FHSAA contenders as the best in the state and helped to propel St. Andrews into the top spot of the coach’s poll this week. Other players nominated for this honor include Ponte Vedra goalie Conor Peaks, Bishop Moore attack Joey McMahon, Fernando Milanes of St. Thomas Aquinas (4 goals vs. LHP), LHP’s Austin Tamayo (9 assists and 12 points vs. big time opponents). If you feel there is another player out there who deserves some consideration please leave a comment and we will be happy to post it.  Just do your best to use “G” rated language!
