By Jennifer Watson The Creekside Knights hosted Bishop Moore in its castle Friday night.  While the JV Knights fell 10-1 to Bishop Moore, the Varsity Knights pulled off a 10-7 win. Creekside vs BMC)In the First Quarter, the score was 2-2.  Both teams seemed to be knocking on each other’s door taking a lot of shots and it was a defensive game.  In the Second Quarter, the Knights split away making the score 4-2 at the half. After the half, Creekside scored quickly making it 5-2.  However, the tide began to change and on a fast break from a busted face off resulted in an immediate score.  Then another score by Bishop Moore making it 5-4 in with 5:03 in the Third Quarter.  Julian Bonilla returned the favor, followed by a score by Gabe Noto making the score 7-4.  The Knights seemed to capitalize on the Bishop Moore turnovers making the score 10-5 with 4:19 left in the Fourth Quarter.  The Bishop Moore players did not give up and started scoring making it a score 10-7 game with 1:07 left in the game. Overall this game showed that defense is key.  Knights Head Coach, Jason Alford, stated “we were very happy with our defensive effort tonight and overall ground ball effort…we held a well-coached Bishop Moore team to 2 goals in the 1st half and 6 goals total for most of the game until the last goal with a minute to go in the game….”  The Knights and Bishop Moore had outstanding defensive plays and once again the Knights Goalie, Conor Ryan, had an amazing game with several key saves. Creekside has a busy week coming up with St. Augustine at 8pm on Tuesday, District 6 Rival Nease at 7:30pm on Friday, and Maclay in Tallahassee at 3pm on Saturday.
