Schreiber scored his hat trick in the first 16 minutes of the game.  He came from behind the goal to snare a pass from Jack Hawley as Hawley drove towards the goal and flipped a quick shot past the Bears’ Kellen Harp to give Fleming Island a 5-1 lead with 8:33 remaining in the first half. Schreiber spent the second half feeding his teammates.  Drawing the defense to himself by feinting towards the goal from his spot on the left side of the goal, the sophomore threaded passes through Bartram Trail’s defense for conversions from the upper right side.  Devan Marquis, who led all scorers with four goals, was the beneficiary of two of those passes, firing shots into a tiny space in the upper near corner of the goal.  Hawley and Will Yarbrough converted the other two, giving the Golden Eagles a commanding 10-6 advantage at the end of the third quarter. Marquis’ other goals came on drives to the goal, rebounding his own shot on one occasion and beating Harp from close range on the second try. Bartram Trail clawed back from their early deficit to tie the Golden Eagles at 5 behind middie Tommy Reude.  The senior scored all three of his goals in the second quarter, one on a bounce shot from 10 yards away, one on a waist-high laser while running laterally to the goal, and the last on a wraparound drive while drawing a penalty.  But the Bears could not overcome their third quarter, during which they were outscored 5-1 and surrendered two man-up goals. Fleming Island played crisply, reaching double figures in goals for the first time in three games. The Golden Eagles committed only 2 penalties, seven fewer than they committed in last week’s 9-8 loss to Creekside, and one of Thursday’s infractions occurred with less than a minute to go. Riley Smith had three assists for the Bartram Trail, who received two goals each from attack Alex Testa and sophomore middie Aiden Parr.  The Bears, now 4-7, host Creekside Tuesday night in their final district game. Addison deAbreu-Reese scooped six ground balls to lead Fleming Island, who improves to 5-5 and completes District 8 play with a 1-3 mark.  The Golden Eagles play just their third home game of the season versus Gainesville Oak Hall Friday night.
