Doug Shanahan, Florida Launch player and an Assistant Coach last year at St. Thomas Aquinas, takes the reigns at start-up program St. Brendan HS in Miami.
Coach Shanahan spoke with the author last week and made the following points:
The school will start as an Independent this year and will make the decision on when to turn into an FHSAA Varsity program when appropriate
The school will be breaking ground on both academic and athletic facilities shortly
The Athletic Director, Julio Arnez, is very supportive of building a solid lacrosse program. Â Coach Shanahan did indicate that there were some lacrosse players already in the quick forum readtopic propecia answer online school to help him build the first year squad.

It should be noted that St. Brendan isn’t that far from Columbus Catholic so it looks like an interesting cross-town rivalry is there for the building down the line. Â And once again we see how the sport we all love is spreading its’ tentacles further, even into an area of Florida where football and baseball have long reigned supreme. Â Maybe we can get Josh Hawkins to toss a few sticks over the wall?
We wish Coach Shanahan all the luck in building his program. Â Not a bad way to start up a program.
