Fast Start Helps Steinbrenner Get Win Over Tampa Catholic

Written by Lee Roggenburg on . Posted in .
Steinbrenner jumped ahead with a 6 – 0 score between the 1st and 2nd quarter. Goalies from both teams had Great games. Jason Wagenbrenner from Steinbrenner had a save percentage of 67% and Tampa Catholic’s goalie, known as  “Chew,”  is the real deal! Steinbrenner’s defense seemed to shut down any offense Tampa Catholic was throwing at them. However Jackson Costello of Tampa Catholic scored a goal with 10 seconds left of the 2nd quarter to end the half. (Steinbrenner 6. Tampa Catholic 1) Charlie Bidleman of Steinbrenner led the offense with 2goals and 2 assists. The midfield for Steinbrenner showed some lack of discipline and hurt their defense and their team by getting 8 penalties. Steinbrenner was able to open it up in the 4th quarter and won the game 10-3. Steinbrenner improves to 2-0 and has a big District game against Tampa Jesuit (2-1) on Saturday (2/21/15) at 1pm.
