MELBOURNE, Fla. (Men’s Lacrosse) – The accolades continue to come in for Florida Tech men’s lacrosse’s Addison Abramsonas he was named the USILA/Lids Team Sports Division II National Defensive Player of the Week, announced by the USILA office Wednesday.
This accolade comes two days after Abramson was tabbed the Sunshine State Conference Defensive Player of the Week for helping the Panthers go 2-1 in their three-game road trip last week.
The freshman kicked off the road-trip by collecting a game-high five ground balls as Florida Tech came from five goals down in the fourth quarter to knock off Wheeling Jesuit 12-11 in overtime on Monday. The long stick midfielder followed that up with two caused turnovers in the Panthers’ 11-7 loss to No. 4 Seton Hill on Wednesday.
Abramson’s best performance, however, came in Thursday’s 11-7 victory over Alderson Broaddus, as he recorded three ground balls and a game-high three caused turnovers as FIT improved to 5-2 on the year.
The Reisterstown, Maryland product currently tops the SSC with 13 caused turnovers this season while his 21 ground balls rank third on the team.
Abramson and the No. 20 Panthers hit the road again this weekend for Gaffney, South Carolina to take on two-time defending national champion, No. 1 Limestone on Saturday, March 19 at 1 p.m. ET.
