FIT Women: Panthers are Dancing, Earn #6 Seed in NCAA D2 South Region Tournament

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Women’s Lacrosse) – The Florida Tech women’s lacrosse team will be dancing into the NCAA Division II Women’s Lacrosse Tournament for the first time in program history, announced by the NCAA selection show on Sunday evening.
The Panthers, who boast a record of 13-3 this season, will be making their first ever appearance as the No. 6 seed in the NCAA South Region. FIT is set for a first round matchup with No. 3 seed East Stroudsburg. The game is set to take place Friday, May 12, at 3 p.m. ET on the campus of the No. 2 seed Florida Southern in Lakeland, Florida.
The winner of Florida Tech and East Stroudsburg will play FSC in the second round game on Saturday, May 13, at 3 p.m. in Lakeland.
Guided by Sunshine State Conference Coach of the Year, Corinne Desrosiers, the Panthers posted four victories over Top 15 opponents this season and made it to their first ever SSC Championship Game, falling to Florida Southern. She is 30-19 in her first three seasons at FIT.
ESU (17-2), which won the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Championship on Sunday, is also making the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history.
Other games from the South Region, the No. 4 seed Regis (Co.) plays the No. 5 seed Queens University of Charlotte in the first round, on the campus of the No. 1 seed Lindenwood. The winner plays Lindenwood in the second round.
