BOCA RATON, Florida (December 17, 2014) – The Florida Launch (Launch) rounded out its 2015 roster to 35 players with the additions of 12 players during the 2015 Major League Lacrosse (MLL) Supplemental Draft and MLL veterans Charlie Cipriano and Curtis Dickson in a trade prior to the start of the draft.

“We went into this draft with a few holes that needed to be filled and we did just that with our trade and draft picks. We were able to get two high-caliber MLL players in our trade and our first three picks on the draft board so I can’t be any happier with that outcome.” said Launch Head Coach Stan Ross. “Overall we had an excellent draft that has rounded out our roster nicely and we look forward to seeing how everyone will fit into our system for the 2015 season.”

The Launch started out the Supplemental Draft with the second overall pick and selected midfielder Cameron Lao-Gosney who played in five games for the Launch in its inaugural season, followed by midfielders Sam Snow and Zack Losco at 10th and 18th overall, respectively. Snow most recently played for the Denver Outlaws in 2013 and 2014 after playing all four years at Fairfield University. While at Fairfield, Snow scored 89 goals and 49 assists for a total of 128 points in 58 games. Snow earned honorable mention All-America honors, as well as a selection to the All-NEILA and All-ECAC first teams. Losco, who was drafted by the Charlotte Hounds in the 2014 MLL Collegiate Draft, played for University of Pennsylvania from 2011 to 2014. In 2014, Losco started in all 15 games for Penn where he led his team in goals with 26 and was the only player to record a point in every game his senior year. Losco played in 56 games during his four seasons and scored 55 goals and 26 assists for a total of 81 points. Losco was named third-team USILA All-America and First-Team All-Ivy for the second time in his college tenure. “We are walking away from this draft with six talented midfielders that answer many of the problems we saw shine through during our 2014 season,” said Ross. “Our top three draft picks are capable players that are quick on their feet and extremely versatile on both the defensive and offensive sides of the field.” Defensemen Pat Kiernan and Michael McCormack were also picked up by the Launch as its 5th and 8th pick, respectively, to add depth to the strong Launch defensive unit. Kiernan finished his college career at the Naval Academy as a three-time All-Patriot League selection and Navy’s record holder for caused turnovers with 74. Kiernan is Navy’s all-time leader in career points scored by a defenseman with 17 total points and his 13 goals in four seasons are the most in program history. McCormack was drafted by the Charlotte Hounds in the 2013 MLL Collegiate Draft where he played in seven regular season games, collecting 12 groundballs and one groundball in his rookie season. Prior to joining the MLL, McCormack play in all four seasons at Yale, where he collected 201 groundballs and caused 107 turnovers, as well as contributed eight goals and 10 assists over his career. “Both Pat and Michael will fit in well with our already solid defensive line,” said Ross. “They are smart, young defensemen who are able to find the right spots at the right time to cause much needed turnovers to win back possessions.” The Launch continued to add to its 2015 roster with South Florida locals Mario Ventiquattro, Nick O’Hara and Chazz Woodson. Ventiquattro was a main staple on the field for the Launch in 2014 appearing in all 14 games during the team’s inaugural season and scoring seven goals and one assist for a total of eight points. Prior to the start of the 2015 Supplemental Draft, the Launch traded goalie Dillon Ward and two 4th Round 2014 Supplemental Draft picks to the Denver Outlaws in return for goalie Charlie Cipriano and attackman Curtis Dickson. Cipriano has played for the Outlaws in 14 games for a total of 226 minutes in goal, including 142 minutes during the Outlaws 2014 MLL championship season. Dickson played for the Outlaws in five games in the 2014 season where he scored 11 goals and five assists for a total of 16 points. 2015 Florida Launch Supplemental Draft Picks: 1st Pick (2nd Overall) – Cameron Lao-Gosney (M) – Lehigh 2nd Pick (10th Overall) – Sam Snow (M) – Fairfield 3rd Pick (18th Overall) – Zack Losco (M) – UPenn 4th Pick (34th Overall) – Mario Ventiquattro (M) – Ohio State 5th Pick (42nd Overall) – Pat Kiernan (D) – Navy 6th Pick (50th Overall) – Will Mangan (M) – Rutgers 7th Pick (58th Overall) – Tom Croonquist (FO) – Villanova 8th Pick (66th Overall) – Michael McCormack (D) – Yale 9th Pick (74th Overall) – Tim Desko (A) – Syracuse 10th Pick (82nd Overall) – Nick O’Hara (D) – Duke 11th Pick (90th Overall) – Bryce Dabbs (M) – Navy Additional Pick – Chazz Woodson (A) – Brown
