Author’s Note:  This is a huge game for the Launch and they deserve a bigger crowd this week!  A win over NY gets them to 4-3 on the season and wins both tiebreakers against NY and Rochester for playoff implications.  In addition, the ENTIRE rookie class will be present to sign autographs and your kids should bring along an extra item for signatures.  Don’t fail to take advantage of this Saturday’s game!
The Florida Launch return to home this Saturday in hopes of winning the second straight game in a back-to-back series with the New York Lizards. Faceoff is set for 7 p.m. at FAU Stadium in Boca Raton, Fla. The game is this week’s MLL Game of the Week and will be streamed live on Twitter. Last week, the Launch defeated the New York Lizards 13-10 led by big performances from goalkeeper Austin Kaut (21 saves) and Kieran McArdle (three goals and three assists). Kaut, the league leader in saves with 116, earned Warrior Defensive Player of the Week for his performance. McArdle anchored an explosive offense that had an extra boost with former Syracuse stars Nick Mariano and Sergio Salcido both making their MLL debuts and recording their first career goals. The rookie presence was felt on the defensive side of the ball as well with Alec Tulett making his league debut. Tulett drew a matchup with Lizards’ star Paul Rabil for much of the game. The Brown University product fared well and contributed his first career groundball. The Launch will get another boost this week with the additions of more draftees to the active roster. The first overall pick in the draft, Brown’s Dylan Molloy, looks to make his debut after sitting out last week. Molloy will be joined by fellow rookies as Providence’s Jarrod Neumann, Maryland’s Tim Muller, and Towson’s Ryan Drenner. The entire rookie class will be making their first public appearance together as an autograph session is set for 5:30 p.m. inside FAU Stadium.
