thanks to Travis Larner, Athletic Communications Assistant – Florida Southern College for this press release   MELBOURNE, Fla. – The outstanding play of Florida Southern redshirt freshman Ashley Seborowski was once again recognized by the Sunshine State Conference as the goalkeeper was crowned the women’s lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week for the third straight week. It is the fourth week in a row that a Moccasin has taken home the award. Junior defenseman Gabby Barowski (Alexandria, Va.) was also honored by the league with the award on March 2. Seborowski started all four games for the Moccasins last week, going 3-1 between the pipes. She allowed six goals and made 10 saves in 54:06 of playing time in the Mocs’ 15-7 win over Lenoir-Rhyne (3-4) on March 17.  

  Although she earned her first loss of the season against No. 3 Lindenwood (6-0) on March 20, Seborowski limited a team that averaged over 19 goals per game in its first five games to only nine. She also made a career-high 14 saves against the Lions, tied for the fourth-most in a single game in team history. The Annapolis, Md., native started and played the first half against both McKendree (6-1) and Adams State (0-3) on March 21, making a pair of stops in each game. She surrendered only one first-half goal to a previously undefeated Bearcats team that came in scoring 20 per game. Seborowski is currently second in all of Division II with a 57.4 save percentage and eighth with 81 saves. No. 5 Florida Southern (11-2, 0-0 SSC) will take on No. 9 Rollins (8-2, 1-0 SSC) in the Mocs’ first-ever Sunshine State Conference contest on Friday, March 27 at 7 p.m. at Bryant Stadium.
