Lynn’s Rainone Named SSC Men’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week for Second Time

thanks to Olivia Coiro,  Assistant Director Athletics Communications – Lynn University for this press release   March 23, 2015 Men’s Lacrosse   BOCA RATON, Fla. – Anthony Rainone became the first player in program history to earn multiple Sunshine State Conference Player of the Week honors for Lynn University’s lacrosse team this week. Rainone was selected as the SSC Offensive Player of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon. Lynn won its only game of the week improving to 6-2 overall and 1-0 in SSC play. A native of Lynnbrook, N.Y., he helped guide the Fighting Knights to their first SSC win in program history scoring the game-winning goal over Florida Southern with seven seconds left in regulation for an 11-10 victory. Rainone scored three goals in the game while adding one assist.

  Rainone has recorded at least three points in every game he has played for the Blue & White and recently broke the Sunshine State Conference record for consecutive hat tricks as he has logged three or more goals in every game this season. The junior attack already has set program records for goals in a season (30), points in a season (40), hat tricks in a season (8), goals in a game (6) and has tied the record for points in a game (8). Currently he ranks fifth in Division II for goals per game (3.43) and is 12th in points per game (4.57).
