MELBOURNE, Fla. – Florida Southern goalkeeper Ashley Seborowski repeated as the Sunshine State Conference women’s lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week after earning another pair of wins between the pipes.
The Moccasins (8-1, 0-0 SSC) have won three consecutive SSC Defensive Player of the Week awards. In addition to back-to-back honors for Seborowski, junior defender Gabby Barowski was honored on March 2.
Seborowski is now 6-0 on the season after earning wins over No. 14 Queens (N.C.) on March 10 and Seton Hill on March 14. She made a career-high 11 saves against 25 shots from the 14th-ranked Royals. In the 13-10 win over Seton Hill, the redshirt freshman made seven saves. Entering the game, the Griffins, who are now 3-1 and jumped to No. 19 in the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Top 20 Poll despite the loss, averaged 16 goals per game, but were limited to only 10 against the Seborowski and the Moccasin defense.
