Hillsborough School Board Approves Lacrosse

From Tampa Bay Times– TAMPA — Lacrosse, while not in every Hillsborough County high school, will be introduced on a pilot basis next year that will include some payment from players who can afford it. A deal between the School Board and the Hillsborough County Lacrosse Alliance, known as HALAX, will bring the sport to approximately eight schools. The list will most likely include Alonso, Steinbrenner, Newsome, Plant, Wharton, Freedom, Robinson and Durant. Efforts will be made to form teams at Tampa Bay Technical and Jefferson High School as well. The school board voted unanimously to approve the program.
