This was a close game throughout, with neither team leading by more than 2 goals. For most of the first half, Mandarin and Matanzas were going back and forth scoring goals until Matanzas got a small lead before the half. At the start of the 4th quarter, Matanzas held the lead at 9-7. With 5 minutes remaining in the game, Adrian Silvia scored to  tie the game at 9. With under 4 minutes left to play, Blake Weil scored what would become the game winning goal for the Mustangs. The Mustangs almost gave the game away with penalties, playing the last 3 minutes of the game man-down. The Mustangs played strong man-down defense, led by Aiden Lavelle, to keep Matanzas from capitalizing on the opportunities. Mandarin Senior Captain, Dalton Groff, led the team in scoring with four goals.
