Launch Acquire Defenseman Mike Lowe in Trade With Chesapeake

  The Florida Launch have acquired defenseman Mike Lowe, midfielder Mark McNeil and the 8 ^th overall Collegiate Pick in the 2017 Draft from the Chesapeake Bayhawks in exchange for Lyle and Jeremy Thompson. Lowe, who was picked up by the Bayhawks during the 2016 season, tallied 17 groundballs and caused nine turnovers within the first year of his MLL career. “Mike Lowe got a ton of experience last year in the MLL and adding him makes us a better defense.” Head Coach Tom Mariano explains. “He is tough and tenacious defenseman who has played for great coaches who were outstanding MLL players.” The Launch enters the 2017 Collegiate Draft with four of the top ten picks in a more than impressive draft class. “The goal from day one has been to build a franchise around hungry committed players” said Coach Mariano. “This trade adds another high draft pick to continue to build the Launch into a Championship franchise.” Adding the 8^th overall pick, in addition to the 1^st, 4^th, and 10^th, gives the Launch a chance to add some of the nation’s top college players to an already talented roster. The Launch also received midfielder Mark McNeil in the trade. McNeil, a former 2014 Collegiate Draftee, who will reunite with his former University of North Carolina teammate Steve Pontrello in Florida. Lowe and McNeil will both look to make an impact in the 2017 season. Launch fans will get to see these new additions in action on April 23 at Spec Martin Stadium in DeLand, Florida.
