Jacksonville Lacrosse Club 2011 Fall Box Academy JLC’s 2011 Fall Box Lacrosse Academy is Jacksonville’s premier platform for skill set development. Designed as a great compliment to our Field Academy,  JLC’s lighted outdoor box lacrosse rink creates a tailored and exciting learning environment for players of all ages and experience levels. The rink atmosphere allows for only 22 athletes to train at a time creating a very personalized learning experience and connection to your instructors. Much like an Ice Hockey practice, our box training sessions are high octane, fast paced, and promote critical fundamentals. In the confines of our box rink, athletes learn proper concepts of time and space, progressive stick work, receive high repetitions and quality touches on the ball. Because the ball always stays in play athletes learn to anticipate and finish every situation.  Learn From Professional Educators In A Specialized Environment   Our Box Academy sessions are directed by Brian Duncan and Patrick Harnett along with proven educators from the local lacrosse community. Having grown up playing competitive travel ice hockey and travel box lacrosse, Coach Harnett had the good fortune of practicing with the National Lacrosse League’s Columbus Landsharks while still in high school. Coach Duncan is no stranger to the rink either as he was drafted to play major league indoor lacrosse by the Pittsburgh Bulls in 1993 and again in 1994 by the Baltimore Thunder. Our coaching staff’s knowledge and passion for the box game will help you to fall in love with the greatest training tool for field lacrosse and put you on the fast track to success. Our coaches are hand-picked for their lacrosse expertise, their ability, and desire, to teach young players and for their ability to responsibly supervise students. Athletes of JLC return home as better lacrosse players largely due to the amount of individual attention they receive. Individual Teaching Progression   Our comprehensive individualized teaching progression serves the needs of all skill levels per age division. Athletes will work in groups based upon skill level, experience, and lacrosse IQ. All players are individually evaluated. They progress through weekly, fundamental station work, individual positional work, competitive position drills, systematic unsettled play concepts and, finally, team play, where new skills and concepts are applied.  We also have weekly specialized coaching in box goalie play and face-offs. Program Cost: $240 (includes top flight instruction and reversible jersey) Registration: Registration is open and limited to 22 athletes per age division. Registration will close September 15th, 2011.
